This lovely antique pottery canister is one of a set of twelve we are selling. The canister is decorated with a blue transfer design and hand labeled. The set was made by Boch Freres Keramis (Belgium) c. 1880-1890 and was probably used in a shop. Each canister measures 6 1/2 inches high, 4 1/2 inches wide at the top and bottom, and 6 inches at the widest in the middle. This canister is labeled "Amidon" or "starch". I am not sure if that is laundry starch or food starch. This canister is missing its lid and has some slight discoloration. Click on photo for more detail.
