This wonderful piece of French transferware was probably part of a terraine dish. The dish is decorated with a deep blue flower and foliage pattern. The ends of the dish have a raised lion head design (see inset photo). This piece was made by Keller and Guerin, Luneville, France. The pattern is called "Violette", the dish measures 3 inches high by 9 inches wide and dates from about 1890-1910. Click on photo for more detail.
