This lovely antique dark teal blue transferware plate has a scalloped edge and an embossed scroll pattern along the rim. The Romantic style design consists of floral and scenic cartouches on the rim and a central design of tow women walking in front of a man on a camel, with buildings and foliage surrounding them. The pattern is called "Oriental". The plate was made by New Wharf Pottery (England) c.1878-1890. There are some manufacturing flaws, bubbles in the glaze, on the underside.
