This very pretty blue transferware cup bowl has a pearlware body decorated in the Romantic style with the central scene of a lake with two swans surrounded by gardens with a couple strolling. There is a palace and mountains in the background. The rim is done in a floral scroll pattern. Made by Podmore Walker & Co., the pattern is called "Venus" c.1834-1859.
