

This antique blue transferware plate has a scalloped edge highlighted with gold. The Romantic style design features a floral pattern rim with alternating floral and scenic cartouches. The central design is of Far Eastern style buildings and people in Far Eastern style dress. The pattern is called "Oriental". The plate was made by William Ridgway, England, c.1891, and measures 9 1/2 inches across. There is glaze crazing, a small discolored spot and wear to the gold edge. Click on photo for more detail.
