This antique brown transferware plate has an ironstone body with a scalloped edge and is decorated with a floral design with pheasants. The pattern is called "Asiatic Pheasants". This plate was made by Ridgway, (England) c.1872-1878. There is some smearing of the brown ink from the time of manufacture and two small spots of missing glaze on the edge of the rim. The underside has some discoloration. The plate measures 9 1/2 inches across. Click on photo for more detail.
