This charming French transferware plate has a raised petal design on the rim that is outlined in bands of cobalt blue. The central decoration is a scene with three Zouaves in fatigue caps discussing a menu. The caption roughly translated reads "I await which plentiful daily fare it will be." This plate is #3 in a series. Made by Leboeuf & Milliet, Criel, France and dates to 1841-1863. There is some discoloration along the rim. The plate measures about 8 inches.
