Lovely large blue transferware soup plate decorated in the Romantic style. The central design has ruins and figures surrounded by a scalloped rim decorated with stylized flowers and acanthus leaf scrolls. Made by William Adams c.1800-1863. The bowl is in very good condition. There are three small marks on the rim from when the pieces were stacked during manufacture, and a small glaze flake on the edge of the rim. The bowl measures 10 3/4 inches across. Click on photo for more detail.
