This small oval shaped antique ironstone tureen stands on a pedestal base and has handles that curve upward to compliment the shape. It has a lovely oval knop that echos the shape of tureen. There is a small ironstone ladle that may or may not be original (see inset photo). The base has the impressed mark of "J Maddox and Sons" and dates from 1880-1896. It is in very good to excellent condition with the usual glaze crazing and a small spot of discoloration on one handle. The tureen measures 8 inches long and 6 1/2 inches high. The ladle measures 6 1/2 inches long and 2 3/4 inches wide. Click on photo for more detail.
